About Me:
Hello. My name is Matthew and I am 30 years old, currently living in South London. I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and have been teaching in both Key Stage 1 and 2 for seven years in schools in both England and Wales. At school, my role is Head of Year, Literacy co-coordinator and a full time class teacher. I have been graded as an outstanding teacher in three consecutive Ofsted inspections and act as a model of good practice to Newly Qualified Teachers who work within Southwark. I have 100% success rate in enabling children to either meet or exceed national average for their year group in both Maths and Engish. I have plentiful experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs as well as Gifted and Talented and can adapt my teaching to suit the learning style of any child who I work with. I trained to be a teacher in Swansea Institute of Higher Education with a specialism in Key Stage 2, PE and Science. Prior to this I studied a Sports Science degree where I qualified with First Class Honours from the University of Wales Swansea. Outside of the classroom, I am ex-national swimmer and have represented my country in the Swim Wales Team for four years. I have achieved national success in swimming and have captained my university team. I I am a very enthusiastic, passionate and caring teacher who is able to bring out the best in all pupils. I am able to make learning both fun and accessible to all different types of learners and can enthuse and excite children to become actively involved in their own education.
